GolfLinx was established in mid 2006 to provide integrated, comprehensive solutions to manage water resources more effectively within the turf industry. Specifically, golf courses, sports fields and race courses. GolfLinx distributes AquaSpy products that provide a total system solution to encourage water use efficiency. The result is greater information which creates smarter irrigation management decisions along with significantly improved turf quality, cost savings and higher profits.

GolfLinx is a trading arm of AquaSpy Group Pty. Ltd., a leader in innovative water management solutions. As part of the on-going change management program undertaken by AquaSpy Group Pty. Ltd., it became evident that a separate vehicle be established to best serve the turf industry. Advanced technology that had previously been used to design agriculture soil moisture monitoring and weather sensors was applied to develop innovative new turf products. (See AquaSpy Turf for more information.) AgWISE®, AquaSpy’s agricultural internet software solution was also redeveloped for turf applications, with the introduction of AquaSpy Viewer.

A GolfLinx Advisory Board was set up to recommend a product suite and determine the future direction of the company. Included on the Board is Australian golfing great, Bruce Devlin. Bruce, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is involved in golf course design and recognizes the huge potential for GolfLinx solutions.

He said, “Water is becoming more of an issue in building golf courses, with some developers being denied a permit to build because they cannot supply sufficient water for the golf course. I believe that GolfLinx will be the vehicle whereby golf course superintendents can save water and grow better turfgrass, at a substantial return on investment.”
